2012 Fit-A-Thon Information:

PURPOSE: The Fit-A-Thon is our Spring school-wide fundraising program. Like last year, we will be selling $10 Community Discount Cards. This year’s profits will be used to fund a field trip for the entire school!

EVENT: This year’s Fit-A-Thon will take place Friday, May 18, 2012. Every participating student will complete the regular walk, but will have the chance to stop at stations along the way to Hula Hoop, Jump Rope and play a Dice Game.

DONATIONS: Donations can be made in any amount, but we recommend a $5.00 minimum per sponsor. To receive a Fit-A-Thon Community Discount card, sponsors must pledge $10. Checks should be made payable to AE PTA.

COLLECTIONS: We will collect sponsor donations Monday, April 30 – Friday, May 11. Please send all donations in one envelope to your child’s teacher when you have completed your collections. The deadline to turn in your donations is Friday, May 11.

PRIZES: Everyone can win a prize by participating in the Fit-A-Thon! Start getting sponsors today and be part of the fun!

 Fall Book Fair

Thanks to everyone for such a great week at the Book Fair! Even though we were not able to be open during the Fall Festival this year, our profits were just as successful! Way to go Amelia Elementary!! The money made during this Fall’s Book Fair will go towards the teachers’ classroom needs. A special thanks to our volunteers who helped run the Book Fair every day: Becky Hency, Sue Padilla, Kris Smith, Beth Burcham, Amy Martien, Jaimie Perry, JeMarie Roselli, Yvonne Batchler, Heather Magdich, Tonya Spurlock, Tamara Smack, Stephanie Kuhl and Trina Hawthorne. Without you, the Book Fair would not have been as successful as it was. We had a great time and look forward to having an even more successful Book Fair in the Spring!

 Fall Spooktacular!

Thanks to all who attended our Fall Spooktacular this year! We had so much fun with this event and we hope the students and their families did too! A special thanks to our teachers Mrs. Wolff, Mrs. Varney and Mrs. Dunn for helping with game booths. Each teacher received $100 to put to good use in their classrooms!  Market Day Life & Style Fundraiser

Thanks to all who participated in our Life & Style Fall Fundraiser! Our profit this year was $7,440.94. We will use these funds to pay for our Fall, Holiday and Spring assemblies.

Congratulations to our top-seller, Amaiya! Amaiya won a Wii for all her sales!! Our other student winners were: WINNERS TO COME.

Start Selling Sept. 19th, 2011 and all forms need to be completed and turned in with payment by Sept. 30 ,2011

    We have made it through the first week in March and the countdown begins… 34 days until our short spring break, 36 days until the start of OAA testing and 64 more school days are left before summer break!!!  Where has the year gone?  🙂 

Congratulation wishes are going out to Mrs. Amann.  Her baby boy was born early on Saturday morning weighing 7 pounds and 6 ounces.  Both Mommy and baby are doing wonderfully!  Mrs. Donaworth will be the long-term sub covering while Mrs. Amann is taking care of her new family member.

I would like to welcome Mr. Aiken to the Amelia Elementary staff.  He will be doing his student teaching with Mr. Crandall during the remainder of the school year.  I am always excited in having student teachers in the building.  Mr. Aiken certainly will be learning from one of the best!!

Just a reminder that the Amelia Elementary Chuck E. Cheese night will be held from 3:00-9:00 pm on Tuesday, March 8th.  If you plan on attending, please let the attendant at the door know that you are from Amelia and 15% of your sales will benefit our school.

Chuck E. Cheese night for Amelia Elementary will be held on Tuesday, March 8, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m at the Eastgate location.  15% of sales are donated to our school when we tell them we that we are from Amelia Elementary.  What an easy way to support our school!  Hope to see you there.

Market Day Grocery and Cookie Dough fundraiser pick up is tonight, Wednesday the 16th,  from 7 to 8 pm in the cafeteria.   If you are unable to pick-up your order due to an emergency, please call Drena at  513-543-7174 in  order to make other  arrangements.
