 Fall Book Fair

Thanks to everyone for such a great week at the Book Fair! Even though we were not able to be open during the Fall Festival this year, our profits were just as successful! Way to go Amelia Elementary!! The money made during this Fall’s Book Fair will go towards the teachers’ classroom needs. A special thanks to our volunteers who helped run the Book Fair every day: Becky Hency, Sue Padilla, Kris Smith, Beth Burcham, Amy Martien, Jaimie Perry, JeMarie Roselli, Yvonne Batchler, Heather Magdich, Tonya Spurlock, Tamara Smack, Stephanie Kuhl and Trina Hawthorne. Without you, the Book Fair would not have been as successful as it was. We had a great time and look forward to having an even more successful Book Fair in the Spring!

 Fall Spooktacular!

Thanks to all who attended our Fall Spooktacular this year! We had so much fun with this event and we hope the students and their families did too! A special thanks to our teachers Mrs. Wolff, Mrs. Varney and Mrs. Dunn for helping with game booths. Each teacher received $100 to put to good use in their classrooms!  Market Day Life & Style Fundraiser

Thanks to all who participated in our Life & Style Fall Fundraiser! Our profit this year was $7,440.94. We will use these funds to pay for our Fall, Holiday and Spring assemblies.

Congratulations to our top-seller, Amaiya! Amaiya won a Wii for all her sales!! Our other student winners were: WINNERS TO COME.



This is a reminder that there is NO SCHOOL tomorrow, Friday, October 21st due to a teacher in-service day!

Join us on Friday for the Fall Spooktacular at Spencer Shank Park (in Sedona Ridge) from 6:30-8:30 pm.  This will be a great family event where students can come dressed in costume, take a walk down the trick-or-treat trail, dance to the Monster Mash and enjoy a wide range of Halloween themed games and prizes!


Volunteers Needed:

We are still in need of volunteers for the Fall Festival! Spots are still available for games, food and the Trick-or-Treat Trail next Friday, October 21st from 6:30-8:30.

Also, we are still accepting donations for the Fall Festival. Remember, the class with the most donations will win an ice cream party!! Class donations are as follows:
Preschool and Kindergarten: Spider or Halloween Rings
1st Grade: Stickers
2nd Grade: Coloring Books
3rd Grade: Bubbles
4th Grade: Crayons or Washable Markers
5th Grade: Halloween Pencils
Class winners will be announced the week of October 24th.

Welcome back Amelia Tigers!  We are excited to see all of the students smiles and excitement!  We look forward to a fantastic school year!

Parent Express Email:     PTA is introducing a new way to stay connected.    All PTA information will now just be a click away.   This new email service will reduce paper costs &  reduce volunteer copying time.  There is still time to fill out your forms and turn them.  If you have lost your form no worries, just email with the parents name, and email address , please also mark the subject with parent express email.       

Market Day:   Greetings all, and welcome to another fantastic year at Amelia Elementary . Our first Market Day pick up was held September 20th at the AE parking lot, thank you Mrs. Walker for approving this.  Thank you all who placed an order, with only a week and a half sales time line for the month we did pretty good!  Our profit was $109.64!  Flyers for October will be coming home soon if not already sent out.  All new customers can place an order online, enter NEWFIVE, and get $5.00 off your order of $25.00 or more.  Hope to see and meet you all at October’s pick up!

Box Tops/Tyson/Campbell’s Soup labels:  Thank you all who have been turning in your Box Tops/Tyson/Campbell’s Soup labels. Just a reminder if you’d please make sure you put your child’s name and teachers name on the baggie you turn in with your labels. We want to sure we don’t miss anyone. The class who turns in the most labels each month will win a popsicle class, and the student who turns in the most gets a special certificate. Happy cutting to all. Thank you for your support!

Fall Spooktacular:   PTA would like to introduce the annual Fall Festival.  This year’s theme is Fall Spooktacular!  Our Halloween theme is the ultimate family-friendly event where students can dress in costume, go on the Trick-or-Treat trial, do the Monster Mash and enjoy a wide range of Halloween themed games and activities.  This year’s event will be held at Spencer  Shank Park on October 21st, 2011 from 6:30-8:30.  More information, announcements and volunteer opportunities will be distributed closer to event time.

Donations for Wild West Fall Fest

The Wild West Fall Fest was held Friday, October 15.  If you were in attendance, you know just how many of your fellow Tigers came – IT WAS PACKED!!!  We had the biggest crowd we’ve ever had for that event.  Lines were long, but everyone was extremely patient and a good time was had by all.  The festival raised $2,459.48 for the PTA! 

A HUGE thank you to everyone who made donations for this years festival.  Do to the overwhelming response to the PTA request for items for the fall festival,  we have decided to have an ice cream party for the ENTIRE school!!!   In addition, the following are the grade level winners of the extra recess for bringing in the most items:  Ms. Michael’s Kindergarten class, Mrs. Carter’s 1st grade class, Miss Van Eman’s 2nd grade class, Mrs. Burnheimer’s 3rd grade class, Mrs. Marcotte’s 4th grade class and Mrs. Fowler’s 5th grade class.  THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
In addition, we would like to thank the following businesses and individuals who made donations to the festival:  Meijer Eastgate, Chick Fil A, Mike’s Car Wash, Wendy’s, All Star Sportswear, Stuart Conrad Roofing, Park National Bank, E.C. Wild West Fall Fest

The “Wild West Fall Fest” was a huge success!  Many thanks to Mrs. Gillespie for organizing an amazing event for our school community.  We had a great show of support from PTA representatives, local businesses, parents, grandparents, and staff members in order to make the festival a success.  I personally want to thank each of you for volunteering your time in order to make this an evening of fun for our Amelia Elementary families!

The event was a night to remember… surprise visits from Star Wars characters and Snoopy… great music… pony rides… inflatable fun… games and prizes… cake walk… yummy food and time spent with friends and family.

Preschool – Packs of Decorative Pencils
Kindergarten & 1st Grade – Bottles of Bubbles and 24 count packs of crayons
2nd Grade – Coloring books and cans of play-doh
3rd Grade – Pez Candy Dispensers and cans of play-doh
4th Grade – Pez Candy Dispensers and cans of Pringles
5th Grade – Decks of card games and cans of Pringles
The class from each grade that collects the most items will receive an ice cream party and 15 minutes of extra recess!  Please send it items no later than October 12, 2010.
