In a blink of an eye, January is behind us. February is busy month for holidays and month long celebrations.

Some important dates to note:
• Feb 8th: Valentine’s Day Dance @ Eastgate Holiday Inn 6:30-8:30 pm
• Feb 14th: NO SCHOOL: (Happy Valentine’s Day) TEACHER WORK DAY
• Feb 15th: NO SCHOOL: WINTER break
• Feb 18th: NO SCHOOL: Presidents day
• Feb 19th: Spring Photo Day
• Feb 20th: Spring Photo Day for M/W kindergarten session
• Feb 22nd: Interim reports home with students
• Feb 25th-March 1st: Kindergarten registration for 2013-14 school year

Month Long Celebrations:
• Most notable: Black History Month: The HISTORY Channel is my favorite go to learn about and celebrate black history.
• And…February is also the month to celebrate international friendship, pet ownership, potatoes, cherries, wild birds and embroidery. It’s also the shortest month…and before we know it, we will be looking ahead to March. So make the most of it!

We are still having an issue with a lot of tardy students in the morning. Please, we are asking on your part that you get your students to school on time. As a reminder the first bell rings at 8:45am and the second bell at 9:05 am, which is when the students should be settled in their class and attendance is taken by the teachers. When students are tardy, they are missing the essential morning procedures. Also, late students entering classrooms are a distraction to the other learners. Thank you for helping remedy this concern.
