National Public Lands Day: September 22nd:

Did you know that Saturday, September 22nd is National Public Lands Day?  If you are looking for an activity for your children that promotes being a respectful and responsible community member, consider giving a helping hand.  Volunteers will work together to pick up litter, cleaning up the shoreline, restoring the lands and trail maintenance.

Meet at the Corps of Engineers Tailwater Picnic Shelter at 9:30 am located off of Slade Road at the base of the dam, about 4 1/2 miles south of Batavia. 

Bring a picnic lunch, light refreshments will be provided.  Wear long pants and closed toe shoes or boots.  Call the Rangers at 513-797-6081 for more information and to register for this fun day in the park.

 Dear Parents, Guardians and Teachers,

Welcome back to Amelia Elementary! For those of you who are new to this school, we warmly welcome you to join this big family.

Every year, our PTA helps to oversee the needs and development of the school. We help with raising funds to provide a wide range of educational enrichment programs to our students. The money we raise also helps to fund class trips, books, classroom supplies, and a lot more. During the past years, the PTA has provided learning opportunities that would have otherwise been unavailable to our children. As the new school year begins, we would like to ask for your support so that we can continue making resource and learning opportunities available to our children. We hope that our partnership will pool a wealth of knowledge, talents, skills, and educate our youngsters. Your involvement really does make a difference in your child’s education.

The PTA depends on your annual membership to keep all sorts of wonderful things happening for the children of Amelia Elementary.  This year, we are holding a raffle! Join the PTA by September 30, 2012 and be entered for a chance to win one of four gift baskets which include “Dinner & A Movie”, “Amelia Spirit” and two “Avon”!

The PTA welcomes you to join our meetings to raise your concerns and contribute your ideas and talents to better our school. Our meetings are generally held on the second Monday of every other month at 3:45 pm. All meeting dates, locations and activities will be posted regularly on our Amelia Elementary website and in our school newsletter.
