Last Day of School 2011-12:

I simply cannot believe that today was the last day of the school year!  I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for making the day full of memories and fun.  Awards ceremonies, kindergarten graduation, 5th grade picnic, classroom celebrations and the walk-of-fame were the highlights.  It is always a bittersweet moment when our children leave the building on the last day in tears because the simply do not want the school year to end… this is the school environment that we strive to create!

When I first became the principal of Amelia Elementary, our current 5th grade students were just starting their kindergarten school year. We both became Amelia Tigers at the same time.  How lucky I have been in order to work with such amazing boys and girls and to watch them grow into the wonderful students that they are today! I am very proud of our graduating students and look forward to hearing of their successes during the years to come.

Farewell 5th Graders:

It’s time to say good-bye
Our road has come to an end.
You have many cherished memories
and many more new friends.

We’ve watched your child learn and grow
and change from day to day.
We hope that all the things we’ve done
Have helped in some small way.

So it’s with happy memories
We send them out our door,
With great hope and expectations
for what the future holds in store.

I hope that you enjoy the slide show of the end-of-year activities.  Feel free to email me at walker_s2@westcler.org with a favorite photo to add to the slide show.
