5th Grade Excited Learners!

Coming Attractions:

  • February 3rd:  National Wear Red Day:  Read for Healthy Hearts!
  • February 10th: Valentine’s Dance 6:30-8:30 p.m.
  • February 16th, 17th and 20th:  NO SCHOOL
  • February 23rd: Market Day Pick Up: 7-8 p.m.; Masonic Temple, Judd Road
  • February 24th: Interim Report Cards Sent Home with Students

Kindergarten Weekly Schedule:  Tuesday/Thursday Kindergarten Students will be in session on Friday, Feb. 3rd.

Jump for the Heart:  Last week and during the upcoming week, students will continue to participate in the American Heart Association’s Jump for the Heart.  Students will have physical movement activities (jump roping and jogging) included into the week and given healthy heart facts and pointers.  Amelia Elementary will be collecting change to donate to American Heart Association in order to help children afflicted with heart conditions.  On Friday, February 3rd, it is National Wear Red Day!  Lets deck the halls with red in support of healthy hearts!!

Market Day:  Don’t forget to place your Market Day orders! Amelia Elementary PTA receives 10% of all orders placed each month. February orders are due by February 16th and online orders are due by February 17th.  Pick-up will be Thursday, February 23rd from 7-8:00 p.m. at the Masonic Temple on Judd Road in Amelia.

Valentine’s Dance:  Don’t forget to send in your RSVP by this Friday, February 3rd for our Valentine’s Dance at Receptions Eastgate! $5 per person includes desserts, soda and dancing. Carnations and photos will be available for purchase the night of the dance. Hours are 6:30-8:30 p.m. Remember, no tickets will be sold at the door and no drop-offs will be permitted. Tickets for those who have RSVP’d will be sent home on February 8. We are still in need of volunteers and baked goods for the dance. AE Kroger Neighborhood Rewards Program:  Don’t forget to use your Kroger gift card each time you do your weekly shopping. Amelia Elementary receives 4% of sales, and it’s only $1!! Gift cards are now accepted at Kroger Fuel Centers as well! If you don’t yet have a reloadable Kroger card, please contact:

Recycling at AE:  Do you recycle? Bring your paper recyclables to the AE recycling bin located at the rear of the building. The monies eared from our recycling goes toward our 5th grade trip to Camp Kern.

Box Tops 2012:  Be sure to clip your Box Tops to win a popsicle party for your classroom in 2012!  Our school has made over $1,000 for simply collecting Box Tops!
