Science Time at Amelia:

Does your heart rate increase with exercise?  That’s the question 5th grade students tried to answer in reviewing the Scientific Method.  Students  measured their heart rate at rest and after doing multiple sets of jumping jacks.  The data was overwhelming that exercise does increase our heart rate.

Which flies better, a pointy-nosed or flat-nosed airplane?  That is another question Amelia 5th grade scientists tried to answer.  Students spent time in the gym flying planes and collecting data.  In this experiment  results were inconclusive because the average difference between the planes was only 16 centimeters.

The students in Mrs. Carter’s 1st grade class work together to determine whether or not certain objects are magnetic.
