Thursday, May 31st will be Mrs. Kleschock’s last day as a first grade teacher at Amelia Elementary after a 30 year career.  Thank you for all that you have done over the years for the students of Amelia Elementary.  We love you Mrs. Kleshock!!

New Kroger Rewards Program!


Simply scan your Kroger Plus Card to earn 4% cash for Amelia Elementary!

Enrollment is quick and easy:
1. Go to http://www.kroger.com/
2. Click “Sign In”
3. Click “My Account”
4. Select “Community Rewards”
5. Enter Organization Number: 82067

If you have a Kroger Plus Card, but do not currently have an online account, you must first create a New Account. Be sure to have your Kroger Plus Card handy.

If you do not have a Kroger Plus Card, simply sign up for one the next time you visit your Kroger store. It’s fast and free!

**If you were previously using the reloadable Kroger gift cards purchased through Amelia Elementary, please discontinue using them. Kroger has cancelled the program and can no longer link the money from these cards to Amelia Elementary.

FAQS:
1. After I enroll my Kroger Plus Card with my organization, how long before my purchases start counting towards the rewards?
Your purchases will begin earning rewards for Amelia Elementary within 7 to 10 days of registering your Kroger Plus Card online.

2. How do I know if my Kroger Plus Card is enrolled?
Within 7 to 10 business days of succssfully enrolling your Kroger Plus Card, you will see at the bottom of your Kroger receipt: “At your request, Kroger is donating to Amelia Elementary.”

3. Does everything in my shopping cart count towards my donation to Amelia Elementary?
Supporters can earn rewards on almost anything, everytime they shop. However there are specific purchases that cannot be included: Alcohol, Tobacco, Government Assisted Pharmacy Expenses, Postage Stamps, Kroger Co. Family of Store Gift Cards, Green Dot Prepaid Reloadable Products, MoneyPaks, 1-2-3 Rewards Reloadable Visa PrePaid Debit Cards, ReCharge Cards, American Express Variable Load Gift Cards, Visa Variable Load Gift Cards, MasterCard Viariable Load Gift Cards, Bottle Deposits, Lottery and Promotional tickets, Money Orders, Western Union, Fuel and Fuel Center purchases, and Sales Tax are excluded from eligible purchases. Elegible pharmacy purchases include out of pocket co-pays for non-government assisted pharmacy programs.

4. Can I give more to more than one organization?
No. Your Kroger Plus Card can be linked to only one organization at a time. However, you may change your non-profit organization designation Kroger Plus card online by going to http://www.krogercommunityrewards.com

Welcome Class of 2025:


This morning 68 Amelia Tiger Cubs attended the 2012 Kindergarten Orientation.  Students were able to visit kindergarten classrooms, meet the teachers and each future student got a class of 2025 t-shirt.

We have some special activities planned each day this week in order to celebrate Right to Read Week!!

Right to Read Activities:

Monday: “Keep it Cool with a Good Book” – Summer hat and sunglasses day
Tuesday: “Flip Open a Good Book” – Wear flip flops
Wednesday: “Lay out and Read With a Buddy” – Bring a beach towel
Thursday: “Read in Paradise” – Wear your tropical clothes, leis, etc.
Friday: “Book Beach Party” – Popsicle party earned from the weeks activities

Fit-A-Thon Schedule and Volunteer Information from PTA:


Our Fit-A-Thon is this Friday, May 18!

If the forecast is correct, we’re going to have a great day to get moving!

The schedule for our Fit-A-Thon is as follows:

  • 9:30-10:15: Kindergarten
  • 10:00-10:45: 1st grade
  • 10:30-11:15: 2nd grade
  • 12:30-1:30: 3rd grade
  • 1:00-2:00: 4th grade
  • 1:30-2:30: 5th grade

The Tuesday/Thursday Kindergarten session will participate on Tuesday, May 15 from 10:30-11:15.

Because we have added new activity stations this year, we can use all the help we can get! If you’d like to volunteer for the whole day, half day or just during your child’s time period, we welcome you!  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Karen Staffiera at: cincyks@fuse.net
Please remember: To volunteer, you must first be fingerprinted. You can be fingerprinted at the Civic Center located at 4350 Aicholtz Road. Fingerprinting hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-11am and 1pm-4pm. Please bring your drivers license. There is no fee and no appointment is necessary. Results are usually given the same day and fingerprints are valid for 5 years. For questions, please call 943-5000.

Fit-a-thon Deadline: Friday, May 11th:


Just a reminder that the deadline to
collect donations from your sponsors
is this Friday, May 11.
We would love to take all of our students
on a Field Trip next year!! 

PURPOSE: The Fit-A-Thon is our Spring school-wide fundraising program. Like last year, we will be selling $10 Community Discount Cards. This year’s profits will be used to fund a field trip for the entire school!

EVENT: This year’s Fit-A-Thon will take place Friday, May 18, 2012. Every participating student will complete the regular walk, but will have the chance to stop at stations along the way to Hula Hoop, Jump Rope and play a Dice Game.

DONATIONS: Donations can be made in any amount, but we recommend a $5.00 minimum per sponsor. To receive a Fit-A-Thon Community Discount card, sponsors must pledge $10. Checks should be made payable to AE PTA.

COLLECTIONS: We will collect sponsor donations Monday, April 30 – Friday, May 11. Please send all donations in one envelope to your child’s teacher when you have completed your collections. The deadline to turn in your donations is Friday, May 11.

PRIZES: Everyone can win a prize by participating in the Fit-A-Thon! Start getting sponsors today and be part of the fun!
